A little history
01 September 2008
I came across this picture a few days ago, and it brought back memories of our gig at Chiddingfold..............recognise him?.............I think they were there rehearsing for the tour they did in 2007, just a few months before we gigged there...........hallowed ground indeed.
HOT OF THE PRESS ANNOUCEMENT FROM THE ROADIES UNION
26 May 2008
After
being spotted winding several leads around his elbow...the most basic, of all
the most basic mistakes in road crew duites...it has just been announced that
Mr Simon Gardner , of St Paul’s Rd West has been RELINQUISHED from all future
Road crew duties at all Prognosis FUTURE events .....sad but true!!
Old Rock never dies!
26 May 2008
The
Prognosis tapped into a 30 year old vibe at the Chiddingfold Rock Club on
Friday 23rd. Following in the footsteps of Genesis, Dave Gilmour,
Caravan and many other who have grace the stage of this classic rock venue. The
Prognosis paid great tribute to so many of the bands and musicians who have
performed at this very venue over the last 30 years. Playing tracks from
Genesis, ELP, Supertramp and Pink Floyd- with new material from Camel, Rush and
a Medley of 70;s classic rock that really got the crowd going, the evening waqs
a festival of great acts who had discovered the unique vibe of this venue set
in the leafy village of inner Surrey.
Thanks from
the band to the Chiddingfold Working men’s club. Eddie, and Alex ( the
brilliant sound team) and Julian and Carolyn Macleod who put the gig on...what
a night to remember.
Nice one!!

hallowed venue....never mind the decour...smell the history!!
Carl Palmer Quote
15 April 2008
Given the bands interest and tribute to ELP with Fanfare for
a common man, a recent interview with Carl Palmer asked how he came to take up the drums... "Originally I took up the violin...but found
it made a better noise when I hit it....the rest is history!!"
From Newbury to Dorking
10 March 2008
The Prognosis played to an enthustiastic and appreciate
crowd on Friday...one couple came all the way from Newbury and stayed over for breakfast just to hear the band!
The Inn on the Green is a great friendly pub with great
music the band will be back there later in the year on the 7th November.
Mr G
First Gig of the 2008
10 March 2008
“Great gig on Friday night, especially in the light of the fact
that we hadn’t gigged together for 3 months. The new material was pretty
strong, especially the new Camel tracks, which went down very well with the
mixed audience. We had early challenges with the sound, but the venue has a
strange layout and seems to generate excessive amounts of bass if you’re not
careful. Nelson’s upgraded guitar-synth sounded good – he’ll be refining the
patches as we go along. Used the trusty Alembic again on Friday, but will be
experimenting with the Goodfellow Rumour at the next gig to see if I can beef
up the low-mids in my bass sound. The bass-pedals are looking a bit worse for
wear at the moment – might have to effect some repairs before our next outing.
One really pleasing thing from Friday was the presence of two prog fans who had
travelled from Newbury to see us and had booked a night’s lodging at the venue!
They said they really enjoyed the set and would come and see us again – which
made us all feel good!”

New year - New stuff
07 January 2008
Happy New Year fans.
Well what are we up to (besides all recovering from the celebrations and the dreaded lurgy which seems to have hit most of the country.) We start work tonight on some new material (the first of many) which includes Sylvia by Focus and a section of Camels The Snow Goose (Rhayader and Rhyader goes to town). We hope to have them cracked over the next few weeks along with other tracks (including some possible Rush) ready for our first gig of 2008.
New video clips
10 October 2007
We have now put some new videos clips in our media section of the website showing some of the hilights from our recent big gig at Dorking Halls. Clips include Comfortably Numb, Cinema Show, Firth Of Fifth and Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
Take a peak!!!!
And then there were 4!!
26 September 2007
Mysterious rumours are circulating Dorking that The Prognosis are now only a 4 piece band!!! .... It started when a bootleg DVD of the Dorking halls gig was played back and it sounded at first listen to be without keyboards!! ... It was suggested that the Legend “pulled the plug” on the gig (quite literally ... as there were rumours of an electrical failure at the beginning of the gig!) due to the fact that he had to share a dressing room with other members of the band, as when usually he is playing with the North Workshop Community Choral society ... he always is afforded his own dressing room!!
This rumour was soon scotched but the spotlight fell on (Quite literally ... as he knocked over his new light twice!!) the Water Porter who’s name was INTENTIONALLY left off a post gig press release in preparation for the new 4 piece initiative. However ... I can report that this is not true ... BUT having overheard a conversation between Bass Man Rich and an Anderton’s employee discussing the drum programming capabilities of his new custom built bass....could it be that the Bass man is taking on the drumming duties too and it is in fact Grant Harrison who is due for the axe? (Quite literally ... as Gardner is trying to sell one on E Bay!!)
